DROWNED ROMANCE

I want to first say thank you to all of you girls who left very encouraging and uplifting feedback on my blonde highlights post!!  You all truly made me feel a lot better, and I am very thankful for all of you!  It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels that way sometimes.

I really do have some amazing followers! :)

On another note, here's an outfit that I wore the other day to church.

My hair looks bad in all of these pictures!!  On our way home from church it started storming really bad and we had to hop out of the car in the pouring rain.  We were only outside for a total of like 10 seconds but that was enough to completely drown us!!  So I had to waited out the rain, and then went out and got some photos of my outfit.  I didn't have enough time to redo my hair though, so it was quite frizzy from being pored on in spots and than air drying a bit. You can see my bangs doing something a bit strange looking!! : P

Anyway, hopefully you're able to get past my bad hair (and my neon white legs!!)
I haven't worn this dress in ages.  I had gotten it from Charlotte Russe a few years back.  It used to be one of my favorites, but for some reason it's just been in the back of my closet for a while now.  I thought it was about time to bring it back out!  It's very girly, and romantic.

For church I paired it with this sweater from Charlotte Russe........Oh my goodness I just realized something midsentence!  Everything in this outfit is from Charlotte Russe!!  That has never happened before!  Sure I've been decked out in all Forever 21 but never Charlotte Russe!  The dress, the sweater and the heels all Charlotte Russe!

Okay, now that I've gotten past my dorkiness, here is a picture of the dress without the sweater.

Well, I think that's about it for now!  I hope all is well with each and every one of you!
Oh, and I've recently joined Delance Fashion Community, so be sure to check me out over there.
Have a wonderful day!

Super Sunday!

So another curly hair day.  I started the day with my bangs pinned back, but about half way through the day I took the bobby pins out and let my side bangs down.  I couldn't bare looking at my big forhead any longer!!  I know I'm terrible!  My husband says my forehead isn't even big, but it's just one of those things I've always thought since I was a little girl.  Least I grew into my big forehead more then when I was little!  lol I think we all have something we feel self conscious about that we feel is worse then it actually is in reality.  More often then not we're are own worst enemies in that sense!

Anyway, the cream short sleeve sweater is from Charlotte Russe.
The blue tank and tan tank underneath are both Forever21
And the jeans are Bongo.

I love the back of the sweater. It's the first time I've worn it with a tank like this though, and I'm not sure I like it!  Either way I think the open detailing of the back is beautiful!

I always have such a goofy expression!  Like in the picture to the left! I promise I will try to do better!  I guess I need to pratice posing infron of a mirror for a few hours!!!

Also later on in the day I took my hand and ran them through the curls and I liked how that looked.  A looser curl but still decent volume!  I will continue to try new hairdo's.  I'm hoping that will make me look a bit more interesting!

I know I've said it a lot but I really can't wait for spring!  I have a lot of cute new skirts I haven't worn yet because of this icky weather!  A couple more weeks and I will be able to break them out!!  Let's hope!  Anyway, I hope every single one of my readers are having a lovely day!!

Have you heard the Gossip?!

So this cute little sweater is from Charlotte Russe for $36.99! It is Gossip Girl inspired! Gossip Girl's stylist Eric Daman has been brought on to help Charlotte Russe! Do you love what the girls where on Gossip Girl? Well now here is your chance to get similar looks for less!! Check out Charlotte Russe's website for more info!

I also wanted to show you this belted corset that caught my eye on their website! It is $29.99. I've never really cared for the whole corset look, but I thought this one was cute and tastefully done, what do you think? Would you were it? I think I would wear it under a cardigan or something.

I wanted to briefly mention the Emmy's

One of my favorites: Jennifer Love Hewitt looked stunning in this sunny Max Azria!!

Leighton Meester's Bottega Veneta dress is alright, nothing spectacular, and her makeup is just a bit too much, which is disappointing because normally I think she looks fabulous!

Blake Lively's Versace dress is a better choice then Leighton's, although I wouldn't take a dip that low! lol I do like the shade, but overall I've seen better from Blake Lively as well. Also, I think she should have done something differently with her hair.

Kristen Wig's dress, in my opinion, is ugly, but her face and smile look great! She is one of my favorites on SNL

I didn't really watch the emmy's I just got checked out the fashion. Did any of you have any favorites from last night's show?

Well, I must go, sadly, I will be back tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day than how today's going so far. I'm in a frustrated mood. Hopefully that improves. It's so aggravating when you can't seem to see eye to eye with someone, even though you try. I hope your day is going better!

You Are A.................

Some of you may remember when I posted a which sex and the city character are you quiz and had started posts with where you can find clothes to fit your personality from the show. I ended up doing Charlotte but got distracted from continuing, but today I'm going to continue.
I will show you where you can buy pieces of clothing or accessories that are similar to that character’s taste! I know most of us are on some type of a budget so I have tried to stay reasonably priced in what I find. I also know many of us love the clothes the girls from Sex and the City wore on the show as well as the movie, so I’m hoping you enjoy this part of my blog!
Today's Sex and The City character:
You are A:
Miranda!
Your clothes show you are a very intelligent woman and that keeps you respected! You want a smart and distinguished wardrobe to compete in a man’s world! When you’re not at work you regularly turn to something comfortable rather than fashionable. But sometimes you can shock people with your hot skinny jeans!!
Miranda is usually seen in some type of pencil skirt with a blazer for work. A typical button down shirt is an essential part of Miranda's wardrobe. Below is a suit from Banana Republic. The skirt is $79.50 and the blazer is $198. This is probably the most expensive thing on this list, but once you purchase this you will get so much use out of it. You can pair the blazer with jeans on dress slacks or pair the skirt on it's own with a dressy top to make it more versatile!

A good dressy trouser is key: both here are from Charlotte Russe. On the left: $32.99

On the right: $26.99

The one on the right with the bow shows just a little bit of femininity. Having it show in just a small way is very Miranda.

We see a change in Miranda towards the last couple seasons of the show as well as in the movie. We can tell she's more comfortable showing her womanly side and actually wears dresses! For the most part though you won't see her go to girly like Charlotte, but she still has come a long way from her masculine wardrobe. Below is a vena cava printed khaki dress from the gap which is priced at $88. I think it suits Miranda's style since it is a earth tone and not too fancy!

I really like this dress below. Although it is more dressy then the one below, Miranda would definitely wear something like this. She seems to where earth tones rather than bold colors like Carrie. It's dressy without being to prim and proper! It's $110 and from jcrew.

I love these tops below, again earth tones are key! Pair these with your skinny jeans for a fun night out with the girls and you can't go wrong!

Left: Forever 21 $34.00

Right: Charlotte Russe $19.99

For jewelry stick to leafy looks or tribal inspired. Nature is a good way to go, nothing with tons of girly flowers or hearts though!

Left: Forever 21 $4.80

Right: Forever 21 $10.80

Shirt Above: Charlotte Russe $19.99

Below: Left: Forever 21 $22.80

Right: Charlotte Russe $19.99

Well, that is about it. If you are in the mood for incorporating Miranda styled pieces into your wardrobe, I think all of these are a good way to start! Have a wonderful day!!

Also, we bought a house on Saturday! Which was actually Tim's birthday! We get it inspected today and are so excited!!!!!!!!!!!

Peach is the color....complicated is the issue

So we had a wedding to attend this past Saturday. This is what I wore. I guess I didn't get a full shot of the dress, it stops like a inch below my knees. My husband actually got me this dress about a year into just dating. I had seen it at Charlotte Russe, he knew I liked it and so he brought it for me! He is very sweet! I love the peach shade of this dress! It's a simple design yet I think pretty and would be flattering on most. I put my new cream short sleeve sweater (u've seen b4 with the detailed back) over it for the wedding. Both pieces from Charlotte Russe. Also, my pearl and bow bracelet is from Forever 21. It was like $4.80 or something! Very good deal! They always have fun accessories with great prices!

Below is just to show you how the dress looks without the sweater

So, I have an important lunch with an old friend coming up! I'm a bit nervous about it. I haven't seen her in forever. Here is a brief run down why: She is actually my "old best friend's" mom. She was like a second mom to me, and a lot of my childhood from elementary school to a little after high school was spent at their home. Her daughter, which I will refer to just as "P" and I were like sisters, inseparable.....until she met this guy....and it all went down hill from there.

It's not just that him and I don't get along....I have even tried reaching out to him and making several efforts to let him get a chance to get to know me....but no he wasn't having that! Sadly, he made it so "P" wouldn't be able to hang out with her friends anymore. My friend "R" and "P" and myself were like the 3 musketeers. Until he decided she should only hang out with him, he began to control every aspect of her life, who she could see, what she could do with her time, where she could go....everything. You see "P" had trouble with self-esteem issues...so that's how he wiggled his way into her life.

Oh, he was charming at first, did sweet things for her, said the things she wanted to hear, and then after a just a little while into the relationship it all changed. But she was already in love at that point, already hooked to this guy, couldn't live without him, so she let him take bits and pieces away from her life. To the point where she had no control over her own life! As you can tell, that is an unhealthy relationship, sadly it gets worse. He hit her one day......I wasn't around obviously, or it wouldn't have happened.....he says he is sorry....that it will never happen again. That he isn't that type of guy! A month or two later....it happens again.....she wasn't openly honest with us about it until later. It gets to the point where he says basically he would have no reason to live on anymore if she left him.....she loves him so she didn't want him doing anything harmful to himself.....she didn't want to see him suffer! And guess what he ends up proposing to her she says yes, they schedule a wedding date....start planning things....then about 2 months into being engaged he convinces her to go to the court house and get married without anybody knowing, not even her parents!! She goes along with it, comes home tells her parents (whom she lived with) guess what we just got married! he didn't even want anyone their for that! I think he just wanted to have her tied to him before she woke up and realized that he was absolutely no good for her!

At this point, even though "R" and I have tried to stay friends with her, and help her in anyway we could. We wanted her safe....are friendship had dissolved. Then a few months into marriage I tried to reach out to her and thought, even though I can't do anything about her marriage I still wanted to be there for her in anyway I can so she feels she has someone she can turn to if she needed. So after a lot of persuading he allows her to let me come and see her during the times he is at work. Can you believe it "allows" her?? Also she had to make sure she did her chores around the house b4 she was allowed that privilege! Oh my goodness!! If I took her anywhere it was only to get something to eat, but she was required to bring it back home and eat there. I'm sorry this story is long.....but this is the short version!!

Then a few events happen:

-her dad dies of cancer, she was close and didn't even show up for the actual funeral, even though she lived just down the road. We were all shocked by not seeing her there

-I'm engaged at this point, I still ask her to be my maid of honor...I don't have any sisters and it was always set in stone we would be in each others wedding. She wants to, but her husband says no....he doesn't want her walking down the aisle arm in arm with another guy!!! Jealously!!!

-Even though I was so hurt by that, I still kept trying to be there for her, she actually reached out to me and "R" on a few occasions asking us, without us pushing or anything to help her leave this guy. I even stayed the night with her for several nights at her moms house to help her get though it...bought all her favorite things....was there by her side through it all....she was being so strong too...we were so amazed she had finally realized how miserable she was, how scared, and abused

-about 5 days later.....he wins her back......we have no idea how he does this, but she goes back to him...it's so hard to see someone you care about so deeply go through all this heartache, and still nothing you can do can truly help without her being strong enough to leave him

- we talk here in there, she says she's happy for my upcoming wedding

Wedding day: I have a in loving memory thing for her dad. Her whole family shows up....she said she would meet them there....she never shows

I can't tell you how badly this hurt me....it still hurts me to this day, this cut is raw and deep and never seems to heal. I've sadly been avoiding her mom, even though she understands, I haven't seen her because "P" and her husband had to sell their house and move in with her mom. So I can't go see this lady whose been a huge part of my life because I'm scared to face her daughter. this may sound awfully strange to you all, but I just can't get over it.

She was the closest thing I had to a sister. I stood by her through everything. From 2nd graders to age 22. How can a friend like that not show up for the biggest day in your life?? She knew how important that day was to me, and how I wanted her there, even through everything. I gave her no reason to not come. I know I'm not perfect, but I was the best friend she could always count on...

I sent her a message online, because I couldn't bare to see her, I asked how could she? Because at that point she had never called to explain or anything. She responded through an email and basically said it was my fault she didn't come...because everyone would be staring at her because they would know she was supposed to be up there on stage next to me....and because she looks foreign she always thinks everyone looks at her....its ridiculous....I told hardly anyone the situation....no one would know, and it wasn't my fault she wasn't up there, it was her choice to "obey" her husband. I wanted her to be my maid of honor......and for crying out loud....it was my wedding day, most people look at the bride on that day not someone sitting along with 150 other people!! She had to make that day about her......she has a way of making everything about her......but my wedding day??? That's not right...

Anyway, I was not expecting to go on like this, but since I mentioned I was having lunch with her mom, it made me want to tell the story....... I'm nervous because when I go to pick her up, "P" will most likely be there, and we haven't spoken since those 2 emails a week or two after my wedding, so it's been at least a year. Please pray about this if you do pray....or wish me luck if that's your thing! Thanks for following this rather long post!

I hope you all don't think I'm crazy, and I hope you were able to follow along with this....I know sometimes when I ramble, it doesn't make sense! I will let you know how it goes! Have any of you had friendships like this? Or a long-time friendship thats crumbled in another way?
Oh, and thank you for all your sweet comments on my last post!

I'm Back!

Top: Kohl's
(At first when I bought this shirt a while ago, I was a bit nervous because it reminded somewhat of the tuxes in Dumb and Dumber...u know the orange and blue ones!! lol)

Jeans: Charlotte Russe

So you may have noticed how I was absent for about 2 weeks!! I know, I know....it's terrible! I was on vacation with my husband celebrating our 1 year anniversary!! It was so amazing and very relaxing!! We were able to stay at a friend of the family's home in Florida....we had the house to ourselves, their car, their screened in pool....and beautiful scenery! It worked out so well!! Since we didn't have to pay for a place to stay we ate amazing meals each night! Although I've been really working out for the past month or so and watching what I eat, I let that go on vacation! I just thought I don't want to have to worry about a diet while we are eating out and on vacation! But do not fret, we returned Friday evening, and I'm already back on track health wise!! By the way, pictures above are from before vacation... And below are of the house we vacationed at!

All the houses we were near had their pools screened in, I guess due to problems with mosquito's!

This was part of the pool area, where I would lay out and read! I got a tan too!! It was so beautiful, such different scenery from Indiana, that's for sure!! I wish I had this pool area attached to my home!!

This was the nice kitchen area and the living room it was all one big open room!! There were sliding doors in the living room and and two of the bedrooms all that lead out to the swimming pool!

Here I am in the bathroom in Florida, it was the best spot to set up my camera...lol anyway, you can see part of the jacuzzi tub in the background...that was nice! Here was a top I got a month or so ago, and haven't photographed yet....I wasn't sure what to wear it over with the back being how it is.....but I just chose a simple white tank...and paired it with jeans.....the material of this top is so soft and delicate....I love the detail in the back!! I also like how it gets a little longer towards the front!

cream top: Charlotte Russe
white tank: Kohl's
Anchor necklace: Forever 21
jeans: Charlotte Russe
Sadly, we weren't near any really good shops to buy new clothes and stuff, just really delicious restaurants!

Above: Bubba's BBQ

I did find some really good deals on shoes though at their Kohl's. Also, I got my very first pedicure!! It was amazing!! I can't believe my husband and I have already been married for a year already! It has gone by so fast, but it has also been so wonderful!!

Here are a couple of pics since returning from the vacation.....I'm trying to show my new brown (fake) alligator skin high heels!! These pictures do not do them justice! I am in love!

top: Forever 21

skirt: Walmart (from junior high! )

heels: Kohl's in Florida
Well, it's good to be back! At least on here, I don't know about being back to work though, I could have used a few more days of reading by the pool!! I hope all of you are doing wonderful, thanks for staying loyal to my blog even though I was gone for a bit! Oh by the way, more sex and the city style coming soon! :)

Spring into Summer!!

Some pieces I put together from Charlotte Russe!! Today is the first official day of Spring and I am so ready for it! Also I'm looking forward to summer!! I'm ready to get some color! I've never been to a tanning bed ever, it's just not for me......so I depend on summer to tan this pale skin!!! Watch out sun here I come!!!

What's something you look forward to during the summer???? Anything in particular??
