The Mortal Instruments

This is non-fashion related

An amazing book series called The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare is my favorite series these days!  I just finished the most recent book, book #4 City of Fallen Angels, and sadly have to wait until May of next year for the next book......don't you just hate being left hanging?  When I was Clare's website to see when the next book actually came out, I noticed The Mortal Instruments has an Etsy Shop!!  Check it out here if you're interested.  It offers fun and unique pieces of jewelry, some of which play a key role in the books, so it's kind of exciting to see one can actually buy something like that from the book.  The few things I might actually consider buying, are in the $40-$60 range, and I don't think I really want to spend that much money on it though, so sadly, unless something goes on sale, I won't be purchasing anything anytime soon.

Anyway, for those of you who haven't heard of the series, here are the first four books, and if you click on each of the titles it leads you to a description of them, but let me also say, that they are much better then I thought they would be when I first read the description.

This series is also being made into a movie, I believe the first one is coming out sometime next year, and Lily Colins is going to be playing Clary, which is one of the main characters, if not the lead character.  I'm excited to see these books turned into movies!

Also, I guess in the audio book for City of Angels, Jace (another main character), is voiced by Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl.  I never listen to audio books, I'd rather read a book, but I thought that was interesting that he was voicing Jace.

And yes, I realize, I am somewhat of a nerd when it comes to books.  I fall in love with books, and it amazes me what kind of worlds and characters authors can create.  I wish I could be nearly as creative!

Have any of you read The Mortal Instruments or any other really good books lately?
I like to read a wide range of novels, mix things up every now and then!
